Preserve sub directories on backup

subj: Preserve sub directories on backup

I have a WD MyCloud drive and when I try to copy an Directory with other subdirectories under it. it does not preserve the sub directory structures. Is there a way to be able to move a Directory and all it’s subdirectories automatically?
