We have 3 PR4100 units on our domain. All have worked fine for some time now. However, 1 unit does not connect to the active domain. While attempting to turn the domain connection on, we receive this error. “Connection Failed, Please check your connection” I have triple checked each connection, admin, password, IP address, (static IP), DNS address and I get the same issue. This has worked fine for some time, but this unit refuses to give me the real issue. Obviously, a simply upgrade to a device could change the dynamics of my issue. If anything jumps out at someone, i could use some good advice.
Thanks

That’s frustrating. Have you checked the network settings and AD configuration? It might be a good idea to troubleshoot step by step to visit to pinpoint the issue. Let me know if you need any assistance with that.
I understand the frustration of dealing with a connectivity issue on one of your PR4100 units. Let’s tackle this problem systematically.
- Hardware Connections: First, ensure that all physical connections are secure, including Ethernet cables and power cables.
- Network Configuration: Double-check the network settings on the problematic unit, making sure they match the settings of the working units, including static IP, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS.
- Network Health: Check your network for any conflicts or issues that might affect this unit. This could involve IP address conflicts or firewall rules.
- Firmware Update: Verify if there’s a firmware update available for the PR4100. Outdated firmware can sometimes cause compatibility problems.
- Reset Network Settings: If the above steps don’t work, try resetting the network settings to default and then reconfigure them.
- Diagnostic Logs: Access the device’s diagnostic logs to look for any error messages or clues that might reveal the root cause.
- Contact Support: If all else fails, consider reaching out to Western Digital’s customer support. They may have specific guidance or solutions for your issue.
Remember to back up your important data before making any significant changes to the device’s settings.
I hope this helps you get your PR4100 unit back online. sportowefakty.com.pl
