Do I have to leave the NAS White Light on all the time, or do you advise against switching of from the power button when not in use. In other words what is best?

You don’t need to power down the drive because after about half an hour it will go into sleep mode to conserve energy. But if you know that you will not be using the drive for a few days it definitely won’t hurt to turn it off.
Just remember that the MioNet remote access features of the drive only work while it is powered on.
