I placed an order for the my cloud before I realized that the usb port was for expansion only. So I know I can’t connect to my computer through usb. Does this also mean I can’t connect physically with WD TV Live? Thanks for any info on this.

You can, but it will disable all other network functions of the Live.
Don’t you have a network you can plug it into? It is a NAS, after all…
Yes I do. But I’m not entirely sure that I can stream video without having problems. My connection isn’t bad but it’s not the greatest either. I liked the idea of having the cloud for all my files and being able to access them anywhere but didn’t realize that it couldn’t be hardwired if needed.
So does that mean everything has to be transferred over the network? USB is so much faster and reliable…

Even if you copy from USB to NAS, it’s still using the network.
