Poor performance in WD Caviar Black 2TB 6Gb/s

Hi all,

I have a new build:

Intel Core I7 2600K 3.4G Sandy Bridge

Asus P8P67 Pro B3 Rev.  (Bios 1850)

CORSAIR 8GB (2 x 4GB) Dominator-GT DDR3 2000MHz

Single NVIDIA GeForce GTX580 1.5GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16

WD2002FAEX SATA III 2TB

Windows 7 64bit Ultimate

Everything setup quickly and without problems until I started to benchmark the system.  The drive show terrible performance on several benches, including the “Windows experience” which shows a 7,8 to 7,9 on all systems but the drive show at 5,9.

I’ve checked for and verified all the latest drivers and Bios versions.

What can I do?

Hi any mechanical drive meaning not a ssd drive will only get max of 5.9 on windows 7 experience scores. Above 5.9 is reserved for ssd drives. My sata 3 600 gig raptors get 5.9.
