Poor Design

What bright College Graduate designed the Elements HD with absolutely no means of ventilation ? Could they not

forsee the generation of heat within the unit ? College obviously offers NO courses in Common Sense :o(

The elements HD doesn’t generate NEARLY enough heat to worry about convective cooling.   Conductive cooling is quite adequate.   I’ve had mine plugged in for days, and it’s barely above room temperature (which is about 68 degrees in my office right now.)

In fact, now that I think about it, NONE of my external USB enclosures (except for my MyBooks) have convective cooling…  They ALL use Conductive Cooling, and they never get warm enough to worry about…

You might want to go get a college refresher…  Go read up on “Thermodynamics.”  ;)
