I am new here. I love my WD Hdds.I have 1 element 1Tb ,1 My passport 1Tb ,1 Green 1Tb 1 Blue 500gb,1 WD 1Tb black.
I had rarely got any performance problem with my WD hdds. After using for a long time recently I got some bad sectors in
500gb blue so I rmaed it & got it replaced within a week.I know all the procedure to follow for RMA of internal Hdd.
Now I have a problem with WD my passport. I want to make a review for 4 1tb 2.5’’ external hdd in a forum.As I got 2 wd 2.5’’ external hdd (my passport & elements) & my friends gave me one Seagate backup plus and one buffalo 1tb for review. In all read/write benchmark tests the my passport is falling a lot behind the other HDDs it does goes above 30-32 MBps which is very very slow in comparison to wd elements which is unusual:cry:. The latest Hd tune pro doesn’t shows any warning or bad sectors. I think its slowing down as it is the oldest among all & I am thinking to RMA it in order to get a new HDD for my review and show what my passport can do:smiley: .
I had checked the HDD for any damages but the hdd is in good condition. And I decided to RMA it. But the problem is the serial no sticker on the back side of the case is unreadable. The sticker is intact but the numbers & barcode is faded after a long usage(only just a fraction of barcode is visible). MY question is Does it qualifies for RMA procedure? I need it to be rmaed for completion of my review of hdd.Review won’t be fair due to using a old & slow hdd in it. Waiting for your kind advice for RMA of my passport.
