Need to add more australian streaminmgh services
WDTV does not meet the HbbTV 1.5 standard.
Even if it did … without the Freeview logo Compliance sticker, there’s no guarantee it will even work.
I’ve requested the catchup services in the past. Ignore hbbtv for a second - I can’t see any reason why the catchup services through the web interface can’t work. They are available as apps on certain samsung devices.
Im talking about things like TENPlay… hbbtv is a bit of a joke with the way freeview works.

how do you know that ? are you a programmer ? are you a media licensing expert ?
Just checked TENPlay (plus others) have Android Apps … just Miracast it to your WDTV, problem solved.
I know that because other devices have them, as you just pointed out.
There is already an ABC iView app as well.
It is in the commercial networks best interests that these services are available - so licensing shouldn’t be an issue.
The WDTV is capable of playing the streams.

the fact is … WD have said they have no plans for more Australian Services such as SBS, Plus 7 etc
