Playlists for smart devices in My Cloud OS5

I have My Cloud (4 TB, Model: WBDCTL0040HWT-10, Firmware: 5.18.17) with numerous media files (audio, video, photos, etc) on it. I have an additional WD External 1.5 TB HDD connected to it via USB. I had created several playlists (audio as well as video) on them (My Cloud as well as the External HDD connected to it) and used to access the playlists on various smart devices (Google TV, LG Smart TV, Yamaha receiver, 2 roku devices… all connected by wired Ethernet on the same network).
I recently updated to OS5 (from OS3). Now I only see video playlist on my smart devices and that is in one folder on the External HDD connected to My Cloud via USB. I remade some playlists and saved them on My Cloud… and I don’t see them on any of my smart devices. I saved the playlists in the same folder as the one I can see (on the External HDD)… don’t see the new ones saved… just that one that I could already see. The one that I see is in .wpl format, so I tried changing the new playlists I was saving in .m3u or .m3u8 format to wpl format… still no luck. Other .wpl playlists on the cloud (either My Cloud or External HDD) are also not seen… just this one.
On OS%, I have the twonky media server loaded… I believe I had some more apps on the OS3 version (but blocking on the names… I think one of them was ITunes Server).
I can access the files/folders from all the devices just fine and play them… but would prefer to have playlists given my relatively large collection of media. I understand that not all smart devices can play all file types of media (like .mkv, etc)… but I should at least see the playlist…
What am I doing wrong with the OS5? Any suggestions/tips/advice for me to have playlists (audio and video) on my cloud OS5 that all my smart devices can access and play?
Thanks.
