Playing old WMV formats using TWONKY?

I thought I read that WD TV Live can only play WMV-9 but can play other if transcoded through Twonky?  I can see “My Book Live - Twonky” and play movies through it but can’t see an older WMV.  Is there any way to see/play this from My Book Live?
