PiDrive setup for headless use

I use my Pi headless (no screen or keyboard attached) for media storage, IoT and home automation purposes.

I would like to setup the 375gb PiDrive to have a 16gb partion for the Raspberry Pi OS and 2 additional partitions for storage.

I do not need any workspaces as can be setup with the WD Foundation setup.

The Pi should be able to boot-up headless on it’s own without the need to select any OS or workspace.

Could someone guide me to the setup of the PiDrive to achieve the above.

Why the other partitions? Are they really necessary?

If you’re determined to do this, perform the OS install on the SD card only, then partition the disk the way you want it after which follow these directions:
