Hi
I have two USB drives connected to my EX2 ULTRA but after each system restart my external USB drives are described differently in the / mnt directory. Disk 1 is labeled USB1_c1 and after restarting USB1_d2 or USB1_c2 and so on each time. Is there a chance to assign names of mounted disks permanently so that after device reboot it will be the same?
I am not good at linux and ask for some specific solution to write via SSH.
I though they were named some how by the connected port number on the NAS ie port 1 and port 2 ?
I see My_Book_25EE-1 and My_Book_25ED-2 but I am looking via windows10
if it was not for the different model number ( newer unit I guess) when using the USB BACKUP app one can not tell which disk is which ?
in the UI interface where the eject button is located you can get the SN# of the disk and firmware number.
Just so I understand when you say system restart and device reboot we are talking about a NAS power restart ?
Hi @Cordorb
I have two drives connected directly to the USB ports in Ex2 ultra. In windows, the drives are mapped and recognized well, there is no problem with them. In Ex2 Ultra also, but if the Ex2 Ultra device is reset or there is a sudden loss of energy, the disks will be renamed to “mnt” directory, which then results in Transmission having wrong file paths and I have to manually add correct paths to each file.
Then my question is whether it is possible to mount the disks permanently so that the access path remains the same all the time, even after a loss of energy or after restarting the Ex2 Ultra device.
@solojack1977
have you solved the issue? I am facing the same problem…
I have the latest firmware on my Ex2Ultra (v. 5.29.102) but the problem has not been solved yet…
