My Windows 10 laptop has stopped reading My Passport Ultra 1TB - it is found under Connected Devices (says Driver Error) and sometimes under Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media but NOT under File Explorer. When I look under USB Mass Storage Device Properties it gives me ‘This device cannot start. (Code 10)’ error - which I thought I corrected yesterday by updating the driver but today it tells me the driver is up to date. I sometimes also hear My Passport clicking off but the light remains on. Any help appreciated, not-very-technical
A clicking sound usually points to a power issue. Try replacing your unit’s USB cable. If the unit still clicks then it may have to be replaced under warranty.
