i have a 3tb external , never entered or used a password . recently installed new version of win 7 . the drive now asks for a password .really dropped me in it ,very important information i need to retreive, anyone can help please

Are you able to test the unit on a different computer? if it does the same, you can try using a data recovery softare to see if the drive shows the info.
