I have a G drive mobile 2T that i have forgotten and i cant recall my password. Do i have the reformat the whole thing?

Yes you will need to reformat to be able to use your drive again. It is a security thing if you can’t remember the password. There is no password recover tool/software.
Yes you need to reformat the things but make sure that before formatting anything backup your all the data otherwise it may lead to data loss problems,
