Password express - drive discovering

I have a new drive that was initially used and formatted for MAC and Windows. However, when I am trying to access it for the first time on Windows XP or 7, the status within SmartWare is Drive Discovering. When I open SmartWare, My Passport list No Writable WD SmartWare partition found. What is needed to access the drive?

If you can still access the contents of the drive using Mac, copy all the stuff you need to a different drive.

Then Partition and format your drive on NTFS using following instructions.

Partition & Format Drives

Now download and install NTFS 3G for Mac so you can access NTFS partitions from Mac.

Then if you wish, try to use WD Smartware to setup your drive.
