Passport Ultra still unlocked after PC wakes from sleep mode

I have locked my WD Passport Ultra 2Tb with a password using the WD Security software.

The manual says that the drive should be locked when my PC wakes from sleep mode however this does not happen.

I see the status light slow flashing when the drive is in standby however unless I physically detach the drive it never seems to lock.

Any ideas why the drive does not lock when the PC goes to sleep?

Hi there and welcome to the WD community.

When the computer goes to sleep and then you wake it up, does the system disconnect the drive and the re connects it? Because in my opinion I don’t think the encryption comes through until the drive is completely disconnected. Lets see if another user can share some tips and information on this matter.
