I have a 2tb external drive that will only load as Read Only under Disk Management menu. It will load properly in another computer fine. I tried alot of things, uninstalled driver/reinstall, try change owner in security tab in properties, no option to switch to Online, has full control for everyone in security tab, etc. The pass word for the drive was entered and drive is unlocked. Who can help???
First, what drive model are you using? Are you using this drive in windows pc, and can you read and write in this type of OS? Are you using this drive in MAC, and can you read and write in this type of OS?
It is My Passport 2TB. Computer is a PC Windoes 7. This computer is read only as I cant access drive to copy or tranfer files. On other PCs it works fine.
Try doing a search for Take Ownership and try that. Permissions/sharing on Vista and windows 7 can be a pain.
