My Passport external hard drive started taking 2 entire days to backup. Finally it righted itself and took less than a couple of hours but suddenly one day–a Wednesday–I tried to activate it I got an error message saying
C:\Backup\bakupthu.bat

Windows cannot find C:\Backup\bakupthu.bat Make sure you typed the name correctly then try again.
It always mentions the appropriate day I’m attempting backup, in this case a Thursday. When I clicked on the following day, Friday, the backup went through smoothly.
However, clicking on the next day no longer works at all and consequently I can’t back up at all.
I’m wondering if what caused this problem is that the backup a couple of months ago suddenly started taking an excessively long time: even 2 days. On one occasion it started on a Wednesday and finished many hours later on a Thursday. Then another symptom appeared: the backup would start, proceed for several hours, and stop.
What do I do now? Is this a common occurrence?

I just niw–23May2024–noticed and read your message dated 2021. I can’t recall what I wrote in 2021 without your including that message. Ergo, I can’t reply to you except to say that the prohibition against all caps is some arbitrary silliness concocted by some anonymous control freak. Capitalization aids visualization and prevents birdeom from viewing everything in minuscule lower-case font. Legislating capitalizations and attributung some imaginary meaning to it is like trying to dictate to an artist what color paints to use and what size figures in his or her painting.
