Partitioning my new passport hard drive

Hi I have just bought the above.i wish to use this for backing up my MAC OS X10.6.8 and also a MACBOOK PRO. and I believe I need to refomat the drive.

1.How do I do this please as I have never done before?

  1. Do i need to create 2 separate partitions for this i.e. one partition for each laptop?

3.If I wish to use it to also back up a windows pc what would I have to do differently or is it better / easier to keep these 2 backups separate

Easy, just check the link below for the steps. If you plan on also using it for Windows PCs, you can use the FAT32 file system or create two partitions formatted for each OS.
