My 2007 vintage Intel iMac Time Machine has been trouble free for the last five years with the My Studio Book Edition for Mac. After the upgrade from OSX 8 to 9, however, the WD software was identified as incompatible and moved to an incompatible software folder. The drive is not performing the Time Machine routines but appears to contain the data backup. Also the drive runs more or less continuously when powered up. I put the drive on furlough pending a resolution of the software questions.
Please don’t forget we vintage customers when formulating the software fix.
