On the MyBook Live, who is the hidden user `196042`?

Ok. I got a bit of the heeby-geebies.  In /etc/nas/apache2/auth/apache_userlist what is the purpose of user 196042 which does not show-up on the Dashboard UI’s list of users?

I’m never comfortable finding user logins on operating systems where I can’t explain such a user-name’s existance.

Looked for it, found it, and now I want to know as well o.o

Comeon… you know… 196042…  he’s like your best friend… Are you suffering Amnesia or something?

EDIT: You might know him as “Bob” - People had problem saying “196042” so he decided to call himself something shorter…

Any luck?

Myron,

There you go poking around again!

This is a globally unique ID created when you enable a email address for remote access or add a mobile device. This is part of how the WD2go infrastructure works.

Sweet!  I’m happy now.  I guess being a time servered network and systems administrator makes one a bit nervious when a user account is found and its purpose is unknown.
