I have always had problems finding my files on WD backup using my Desktop. After connecting the external drive to my Mac, under the Backup Tab of the WD SmartWare program, it lists 0 files as being stored whereas previously it showed a large percentage of photos and videos as being backed up. Is there a way to retrieve my lost photos/videos or are they gone forever?
If you explore the backup folder manually, you should be able to see the backup folder, called smartware.swstor. Inside this folder you will see all of your files. Currently the latest Smartware version is not compatible with Mac OS X 10.4, so if you still have the installation file that comes included with the hard drive, you can try installing that version.
