Old WD Blue drive diassembly

I have a WD50EZRZ WD Blue model (2015), which unfortunately croaked.

Was looking to open it and would like to know what size torx bit is needed for the screws on the front face of the drive ? I have some torx tools laying around but T6 is the largest I have and these need something larger.

If you want to open it to destroy it, that’s fine …

But if you want to open it to attempt to fix it, then don’t.

Hard drive repair / Data Recovery requires skill/experience and the correct tools … all of which it clearly shows you don’t have.

“…requires skill/experience and the correct tools … all of which it clearly shows you don’t have.”

judge someone else.

I’ll open it for whatever reason I want. just asking what the correct torx bit would be. obviously knowledge that you don’t have.

beware that opening the disk will eliminate recovery of any data possible

it is a dead HDD that is more than 5 yrs old

i would not, in my right mind, open any HDD with the hopes of putting back together to recover data.
