Old Drive White 1TB My Book World Edition

I know this is an old one but I am new to this group and wondered if anyone could give me advice on my old drive. Upgraded a few years ago but realised I had not recovered all my files, plugged this in and just getting white LED, no other leds .

PC can’t see this drive on my network

@vintagehonda

Have you looked at the bottom of your device to see what the model number is? Provide that information.

Thanks, yes I’ve seen that.:+1:

In Windows 11 right click Start then open Disk Management and see if the drive shows up as unknown or offline. If it does you may just need to bring it online or assign it a drive letter which will make it visible right away. Also try a different USB cable and port since a solid white light can mean the enclosure has power but no data connection. If it does not appear in Disk Management at all then the enclosure electronics may be bad and the drive itself could still be fine which is when pulling the drive out and using a different enclosure or a SATA to USB adapter makes sense.
