Old data lost on My Passport 500 GB

Hello,

My Passport 500 GB is always connected to my laptop (drive F). It contained some 100 GB of backup. Today I’ve connected another My Passport 1 TB (drive H) to my laptop and transferred about 100 GB of data from drive H to drive F. After transfer I’ve found now drive F contains only that data, which was transferred today and all my backup seems lost.

Can’t understand what happened and how to restore backup in My Passport F? Windows XP SP3.

First try to enable the show hidden files and folders option.

If data dissapeared it might be corrupted.  To get your data back you may use a data recovery software, then reformat the drive.
