Offline - what to do?

Hello!
I’ve read multiple manuals and watched many support videos, but nothing seems to work, so I’ll try here:
I’ve bought my personal My Cloud Home a few years back and it ran smoothly. This summer I moved, so I had to unplug it and re-plug it at my new place. Since then it’s not working, I keep getting the notification it’s offline (ethernet cable works and is plugged in) and the LED keeps blinking rapidly.
A factory reset it out of question since all my data is on that storage.
Thanks for your help, Zeke

So it’s not been working for months, since you moved? Did you change your ISP? Did you get a new router?

Do you recall how you had the network setup for your Mycloud? Check your router, look for connected devices and see if you have an IP address assigned to it.

See if “fast breathing” matches what you see. That could indicate the network settings are incorrect.

This is the MCH ideas or suggestion subforum and is not the correct forum for discussing My Cloud Home (MCH) errors.

There are a dozen reasons why you are getting rapid LED blinking including hardware failure but in the case of a relocation, it is usually the router or the ISP blocking internet access to the MCH.

The official WD Knowledge base gives you the troubleshooting steps:

Steps to Resolve a My Cloud Home with a Fast Blinking LED

IMPORTANT:

Western Digital Technical Support does not provide support for 3rd party network routers.
Refer to the manufacture user manual or contact them for help.

  1. Check that My Cloud Home is connected to an IP Address serving router with an active internet connection.

  2. Double check the Ethernet cable at both ends.
Make sure they are tight and not loose.

  3. Replace the Ethernet cable.

  4. Ensure the network router has DHCP enabled.

  5. Check the router and make sure it has enough IP addresses reserved.

  6. Remove all Ethernet cables “except the My Cloud Home” from the network router.
Power OFF and ON the router.

  7. Connect the My Cloud Home to a different network router.

  8. Get the debug logs and send to support.
