Hi Guys,

I’m a graphic designer/ videographer moving into accommodation with shared WiFi. Is it possible to use MyCloud if i was to just use the network cable from my mac to the MyCloud Device? Would i still be able to use the device?

Not fused about having it connect to my phone etc just want it for backup and to save all designs and videos on to stop them using massive amounts of space on my mac. But then to use full features when i get my own dedicated WiFi.

Yes you can connect the My Cloud networking port directly to a computer’s networking port. What is supposed to happen is the My Cloud, in its default configuration, should eventually default to using an IP address and one should then be able to use Mac Finder or Windows File Explorer to access the My Cloud contents or use a web browser to access the My Cloud Dashboard.
