Not supported AVI:FVFW/MPEG

Hello, I’m a bit dissapointed that after connecting my totally new WD TV LIVE I can’t play a few files, which are pretty standard and play w/out any issues under VLC, MPlayer etc. Here is an example, an AVI container with FVFW video / MPEG audio:

Furthermore, bear in mind that using VLC or Mplayer should not be used as reference, as this player are made to play any code, broken or not, even have the ability of connecting to the internet and download any missing code, where the WD TV does not have this capacity.

…thank you, although it did not solve my problem, it shows me, how spoiled we are using computer app rather than hw chip :-(. It’s pretty dissapointing the wd player can’t do the same as there is also a running unix and it could perfectly fall back from decoding withing the chip to decoding within the main cpu, when the coded was downloaded from the net. annoying, dissapointing, user-hostile like this.
