Not enough space on a 10TB drive to copy 600GB?

I have the WD easystore 10TB external drive. I want to copy my OneDrive folder as an extra backup security and I have 590GB of data on the OneDrive. However, when I click and drag the OneDrive folder onto the easystore folder, it gives me an error that there is not enough space. “You’ll need an additional 517 GB to copy these files”. It then tells me:
TI10658600D:
Free Space: 32.4GB
Total Size: 224 GB

If I use Windows Explorer and look at the properties of the drive, windows tells me:
Used Space: 541,458,432 bytes 516 MB
Free Space: 10,000,287,789,056 bytes 9.09 TB
Capacity: 10,000,829,248,488 bytes 9.09 TB

I just got this from a friend that has not used it in years. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or maybe there is some limitation with my laptop?

I have an older Toshiba Qosmio laptop running Windows 10.

Instead of trying to drag and drop the entire OneDrive folder …

what happens if you select the files within OneDrive folder to copy’n’paste ?

Or … copy and paste the OneDrive folder instead of drag and drop ?

Sometimes drag and drop moves files other times it copies files

Apologies, don’t use OneDrive … above if just generic suggestions.

Gave it a try but same error. Thanks though. Anything is worth trying with weird stuff like this.
