I just backed up my pc to my hard drive, but it doesn’t seem like everything was backed up. My laptop has around 770 gigs on it, and after looking at the hard drive, I can only see 578 gigs used. Did I do something wrong in the backup process? Why isn’t the gigabyte count the same in both
Backup software typically compresses the archive so it takes up less space.
It’s also possible you didn’t back up everything. Some backup software will will exclude files like pagefiles, system restores, recycle bins, etc.
Check the user manual for the software and it will describe the settings and process.
