Noisy (?) G-Drive 4T with thunderbolt

Hello,

I have a new G-drive for my iMac which is being used for TimeMachine backups. In my opinion, it is too noisy while it runs all of the time my computer is on. It only backups every hour for about 3 minutes, but runs and makes noise all of the time.

Does anyone know of a solution to this or do I need a different drive?

Hank,

As mentioned in the other threads you’ve posted in. This is the intended design of the drive. To always be running. It cannot be changed.

Again thank you for your response. I’m no longer questioning the running of the drive, but the noise is annoying to me. At the end , I may have to return it for an alternate design.
