No shares could be found on this device

I try to create a Backup ( WD Quick View / Dashboard / Backups / Create ) but I’m not able.

I received the following message (from Dashboard)

*-*-*-*-*-*-*

No shares could be found on this device. Please

create a share on this device or choose a different

device before continuing.

*-*-*-*-*-*-*

Also in WD SmartWare the Backup and Retrieve options are not available.

What I need to do?

Shame on me.

I forget to press on “My Book Live” “icon”.

Doing that all work perfectly.

Also Windows Baciup work too.

And more, I try the free program from WD, WD 2go, on my iPad #3, and it’s perfect.

So Western DIgital make a great work.

Sorry to doubt them at the beginning of the installation.

I am having a smiliar problem. I am trying to back up from my wd live to my computer…

and it says “No shares could be found on this device. Please create a share on this device or choose a different device before continuing.”

I have entered a valid user name for my computer with password… not sure what to do…anyone?
