No HDMI communication between HD TV (2nd Gen, 1.01.79 firmware) and Sanyo Z3000 projector

Dear WD Community,

please if anyone has a clue how to solve following, answer asap. We are in a gret time pressure for a video installation and the following problem occurs:

We have two Sanyo Z3000 HD projectors and two different WD TV HD Media Player, one working (1st Gen, 1.02.07 firmware) and one not (2nd Gen, 1.01.79 firmware - which is not even yet at the official site for download) when connected to the projector by HDMI cable.

The new HD player shows the WD logo/splash screen when starting up but after that doesn’t show anything (no menu, no message) while working fine when attached by the analog cable.

Thank you for any advice and have a nice day!

When you have it connected and working on your composite connection, can you choose what HDMI settings you want manually, instead of “Auto” and get HDMI to work that way?

And there’s always the obvious suggestion of checking/changing the HDMI cables.

(And don’t worry about .79 vs .77… .79 was a change to match the new EU power hardware – it doesn’t need to be downloaded for any box with the older version of the hardware, so WD never offered it for download – other than the new EU power settings, it’s identical to .77)

thank you very much!

i tryied that menu before but didn’t get to confirm in the second step where selecting the resolution because i got a bit confused and tried the “auto” mode which didn’t help…

many thanks for your fast answer!

Unfortunatelly, the player dosn’t remember that settings and it needs to be reset (via the analog …) every time again which is unfortunatelly impossible. Any clues please?

Best,

M

The problem got “solved” by switching to another than needed (hdmi1) input on the projector and then switching back to the one needed.
