Hi Flavio,

Not entirely sure I understand your setup…  but what may help would be knowing:

  1.  What firmware do you have installed?

  2.  What model Panasonic projector?

  3.  What model NILES CAT-5 Baluns are you using?

Let’s go

Firmware: last from WD original 1_02_21

My projector: panasonic pt-4000u

Niles full hd ballon HDMI TO CAT5 RECEIVER AND TRANSMITER
http://www.nilesaudio.com/product-.php?prodID=C5-HDMI%20T&recordID=CAT-5%20Baluns&categoryID=Cat-5%20Baluns&catcdID=&prdcdID=FG01565

Thanks for the details.  :)

On the face of it, it looks like everything should work.  The Niles Baluns are HDCP compliant, as is the Panasonic projector.

Have you tried a hard / factory  reset since updating your firmware?

  1.  Push the reset button on the side of the unit (un-bent paperclip works well).  Unit will reset after 1 second.

  2.  Go to Settings > System Setting > Reset to Factory Defaults.  Unit will reboot.

  3.  Once unit has rebooted, go to standby and unplug the power for 5-10 minutes.

It’s frustrating but firmware updates don’t seem to fully integrate until the above has been done, which can cause odd issues.  Let us know if that helps.

I have a feeling that this will not work for you my friend.  Not until WD will enable a forced output of selected resolution.  If you can’t get it to work, get yourself a 1st gen WDTV, it will force output any selected resolution.  I have both and only the Live version seem to be stuck on 480p.  Good luck!!!

I doubt you’ll get help from WD, they used to have great support.  But now, they won’t even try to correct such a simple simple problem.  There is a thread in a modified fw, here:

http://forum.wdlxtv.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=311

Hopefully they can solve this problem.

Otherwise, consider an edid emulator, they are usually dvi, not hdmi, but will pass all resolutions.  I might get one myself to solve this problem.  They are around $100, which ■■■■■, but what options do we have.

Please fix this problem!
