same tought about replacing two 4tbs

i already searched for 4tb in fact of the failure rate

now i’m logged in in my mac pro and here the HDD is shown with full 3TB:

 i don’t know why, but my images are blocked?

i also can format it as ‘free space’ with GPT Partition Map Scheme… So there is no NTFS neither HFS+ or anything.

i’m very confused, that this HDD isn’t showing any error on my mac pro.

Try putting the disk back in slot B, let it set up as non-RAID, then run the full diagnostic from teh Dashboard.

hello,

i tried to switch the drives and the diagnostic told me then, DISK A failure (instead of B) …so i think there is really a physical problem with the disk and i should replace it. i don’t want to buy another 3tb drive…i aim more to 2x4tb…

as i want the MBLD as archive, it will take a while that i’ll need it. 'til then, i will wait with further progress.

You’re welcome.

When you buy new disk(s), make sure you get a WD Cavier Green model.  The MBLD does not have a cooling fan, so it can only run disks which do not run hot - the Green is one of those cool runnng models.  The WD Cavier Black runs too hot.
