Hi, same problem, no backup since June. I loaded new firmware and new WD smarts software. The software pretends to backup after starting the laptops. It says: o.k. evrything is backed. But if you try to restore the latest files, they are not shown in the restoring menu.
After calling WD support, I was advised to update new firmeware and new WD smart software, so I did - nothing changed.
I´m using Vista professional.
I decided not using this software further .
