No Apps are displayed after updating to OS 5

After updating my PR4100 to OS 5, third-party applications and installed applications are not displayed in dashboard even after installing Plex (for OS 5) manually. It only shows an eternal “Loading”…
I already tried many System Restore and always the same problem.

PS: My PR4100 is connected to internet and I can access to every shared folder with no problem…

  1. Can you enable SSH on the PR4100 and see if you can pull the apps .json file with the command listed below?

  2. Do you have the app_info.json file in /var/www/xml?

    ls -latr /var/www/xml/

My app_info.json file was completely empty. I just copy yours at /var/www/xml/ and solved the problem and now apps are displayed but now when I try to install an app this error: “Incomplete app download. Please check your device’s Internet connection and try again”

What’s the output of the curl command from SSH session on the NAS?

I always turn off the PR4100 at nights… this morning the same problem again with no apps displayed in dashboard. Should I have to do the (app_info.json in /var/www/xml) everytime I reboot it?

@Majelogo it sounds like the PR4100 on your network cannot connect to our apps store and fetch the updated json file. Can you please login via SSH and execute the curl command and let me know the output?

How can I fix the no connection to apps store?
PS: The PR4100 is connected to internet and I can access remotely…

@Majelogo I’ve forward your results to our engineering team for assessment.
I’m not 100% certain that a System Only restore will resolve your issue but it sounds like you are able to manually download and install PR4100 apps such as Plex and probably these two PR4100 packages listed below.

Thanks for forwarding this… Yes, I can install apps manually but the problem is that everytime the system is rebooted no apps store and no apps installed are displayed. Also, I figured out that when I set manually or by NTP service my system Date&Time the date keeps fine but the time always wrong (5hs ahead) when is rebooted. I haven´t any of these problems with OS3…

Although your device is connected to the Internet, there looks to be some latency in fetching and retrieving the json file from our cloud servers. We’re working on some solutions.

No!.. I didn’t have this problem with OS 3 neither the time (clock) problem when I reboot…

I just upgraded to 5.05.111… and same issues… No apps and wrong time clock when I reboot… and ntp service doesnt work…

I have 4 hdd (jbod) in my pr4100. Would you recommend a full restore of my nas?.. I already backed up the hdd (volume1) so I could do the full restore, however I don’t want delete the rest of the disks (volume 2-4). Can I do the full restore detaching all disks except vokume 1?.. and after restore the rest of the jbod disks would be readable without asking any format?.. I really want to solve once and for all the problems since OS5…

@rootkgh We use time.windows.com and pool.ntp.org as the default NTP Servers, but you can also add any NTP server of your choice in the AdminUI. However, I recommend opening a Command Prompt on your computer and running DNS checks.

nslookup pool.ntp.org
