I have a WD My book 3 To (on windows 7 64bits) for several months without any problem (however, I never had to actually restore files).
Today when checking my saved files by looking in the Smartware ‘restore’ window before going in vacations with my PC, I couldn’t find (on the WD Mybook), recent files that are on my C:
My Smartware version is 2.1.0
My microsoftware version is 1.019
Last week, I upgraded the smartware.exe as proposed by the system and I had problems (as in Tyson77’s post on this forum, a few days ago)… The problem was an alteration of AppVIsvSubsystems32.dll preventing MS Office 365 to open. I solved the problem with Office by uninstalling/reinstalling the program. I don’t know if the problem was linked to the WD upgrade.
Currently, no problem when connecting WD drive, no open to kaunch Smartware. The smartware window states the save process is completed
Questions:
-
Are my versions of WD software OK ?
-
Why the recently created files on my PC do not appear on Smartware
-
Is there a way to bypass Smartware and to check the presence of the recent files on the WD drive.
Thanks in advance
