Yeah, and WD has had that feature since before the Roku brand ever existed.

The issue with WDTV is that you need to leave a device up and running to provide file shares.

That’s meaningless tautologism. OF COURSE you must have something providing shares to use shares. Duh. But the WD does not require the use of shares at all; it’s a feature the WD offers that the Roku doesn’t.
