Hello all, I just bought a new WD LIVE TB HUB. I am going to set it up over the weekend and have some queries. 

(1) Can I use it  without setting up the network or simply, without an internet connection? 

(2) I have a  Digisol USB Wi-Fi Adapter, will it work for the wireless network setup?

  1. Some functions can be used without any network.  Depends on what you’re wanting to do with it.

  2. It’s not on the ist, so probably not.

i just want to play videos, music ripped from my collection and also view pictures.

You will. And also try your WiFi adapter anyway.

You will have to connect it to something in order to get your media onto the internal hard drive.

New user:  suggest you go into the WD support area and find the manual for your exact model Hub.  Download it ,and spend time with it.  MANY of your questions will be answered that way, and is how most of us figured out how to use our own units.

thanks guys. i will hook it up with internet eventually, have just moved to a new place and internet service might take some time to arrive. thanks again.
