I bought a laptop and after 5 months of use. the 1TB WD Blue stopped working. My laptop BIOS does not recognize it. The USD1.000 laptop useless, all my work gone. A very bad experience. I’ve seen in various forums that this disk is failing. I dont think i will recover my data. It’s impossible to start the laptop. Does anybody know how can i do to recover my data ?
I am having a similiar issue with a Scorpio Blue drive that was not in a laptop but a desktop, I brought the hard drive to a local computer tech and they diagnosed it as a motor issue. I am now trying to replace the motor on the hard drive, I have just emailed support and am waiting to see what they suggest. I will update.
Hello guys,
Welcome to the WD Community.
We recommend maintaining a backup of your data at all times, as a best practice to ensure the availability of your information and minimal potential data loss. There are many variables that can result in a failed drive, such as power outages, accidental physical damage, internal component failure, and computer viruses, just to name a few. In any scenario, data recovery is not a failsafe. For assistance with different backup solutions, please visit the information provided by the following links.
