New My Passport first backup attempt does not start

I have reformatted and installed the software. When I push the backup now button, the preparation of backup starts. But after a while it stops and nothing is updated. What´s wrong?

Can you share the backup software, drive’s model and your computer’s operating system?

Backup software is 1.7.6289.16232,
drive model is WDBYFT0020BYL-WESN …?
I run Windows 7.

The first I do with new appls is to check for upgrades. This system
answered: no upgrade available.
After the problems and mail to You, I downloaded the backup software
manually and received another version.
Now it seems to work.
What will happen if I connect this drive to another computer (after
downloading backup software) which may not have the files in exactly the
same ordering?
