New device - not visible on MAC?

Plugged in my new device - light comes on the passport but nothing shows up on my desktop - i registered it, downloaded Utilities and Discovery - Still not showing up on my desktop or any of the apps… Do I just have a defective unit or am i missing something really simple?!

Does the drive show under WD Utilities or under Discovery? If it show in WD Utilities, you can use the app to erase the drive for Mac use.

Sounds like my problem. I don’t see anything in WD Utilities, but I do see all disk information under Thunderbolt in the System Report… Just no connection to my MAC at all.

It might be worth noting that I’m running 10.13.13, but only 10.12 seems to be supported by WD applications.

Yea I ended up just taking it back and getting a G drive - I didn’t have time to mess with it and try to make it work and it was only like a $20 difference
