Just bought 2 new 500gb My Passport Essentials yesterday. After backing up 175gb of files, the light starts to blink and it is no longer accessible.
I tried a new port, a new cable, a new laptop and in all cases, the drive will show up but it will say I have to format it to use it. Under disk manager it shows up correctly, but I cannot access it.
Any suggestions on what to do other than return this one?
