New 4TB My Book Studio II on Vista never appears

My new 4TB My Book Studio II on Vista never appears. I’d reformat if it would ever show up. I put in the CD that came with it but it says “Anywhere Backup” (which I do not even want) is “Preparing” but that state never changes.

How do I get my Vista PC to see it?
