Network video preview mode busted

Seems like the latest firmware (1.05.04_B) has issues when browsing media over a network share in preview mode.

Resolution fluctuates and throws artifacts / noise all over the screen when loading previews. In list (?) and thumbnail modes it’s fine, and regular playback is ok too.

Can confirm the brightness issue is resolved.

This is running over HDMI. Reverting to earlier firmware resolved the issue.

This is happening with my plus also. Green lines and screen scattering when the video preview (over wired network, don’t know if it would happen from a mass storage device) starts up. Glad I found someone else with the same issue. I was beginning to think It was a hardware issue.

Are ya’ll using “Auto Framerate Matching” or whatever it’s called?   If so, try disabling that and see if it’s any different.

Can no find any framerate settings anymore.

Good catch. Setting ‘match video framerate’ to off is a workaround. Hope this gets fixed in later update. This feature was a step forward.

I haven’t rolled back and am still using the newest firmware and I can’t find ‘match video framerate’ anyplace. Looked yesterday and today after you posted. Didn’t you roll back?

That setting is found from the main menu; Settings → Video.

Go through and set Resolution to “Auto” and the next setting to auto, and the last step is the prompt to “Match video framerate”. Both the previous and current firmware versions have this option.

It’s only an issue on the current firmware rev.

Thanks! I didn’t remember that the settings menus cascaded like that. I thought they were flat. Funny thing though, the match setting was set to off. I set it to on and now I don’t have a problem with previews messing with the screen.
