Same situation… WD TV Live Hub with the built in hard drive and netflix not showing in the online services menu -although about 22 other services are. Think it needs to be added in to the firmware like the rest appeared when the firmware updated?
Netflix still showing for US, Canada and Brazil only but surely thats just because it wasn’t available in the uk before yesterday.
Not moaning here… I don’t know how much i’d use it but would be good for the rest of the family to use it through wdtvlive hub without me having to give up my xbox
I read somewhere that the UK Live hub doesn’t have DRM for streaming Netflix. I have no idea if this is true but I have emailed Western Digital for clarification.
‘Following this week’s launch of Netflix in the UK and Ireland, Western Digital today announced support for the service alongside the BBC’s iPlayer video on demand service via a software update for the WDTV Live digital media player.’
Wouldn’t it have been nice for WDC to have put this press-release notification on this very forum, informing all their loyal users about the Netflix update?

That would be crazy - why would they create two (or more) hardware versions? The cost of manufacturing would be a showstopper. Obviously firmware region control is the key and thankfully it appears that WDC has announced an update.
Sounds like good news if i’m not misinterperating the last several posts.
Am I correct in thinking that I’ll soon be able to stream netflix uk through my wdtv hd live hub through an update that western digital tech announced? In one topic I’m reading it can’t be done and in this an update through firmware is possible. Some clarification on this would be nice I’m using this box http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=570
Thanks if someone can confirm that a firmware update which is coming will allow me to stream netflix uk.

My daughter’s WDTV Live Streaming now has BBC iPlayer and Netflix, but my hub still has nothing. The hub had best see a similar update within days…
Edit: And I really like the BBC iPlayer implementation. I tested some HD content, and it streamed perfectly and looked great. I NEED this on my hub (Netflix, not so much).
On the page where you can find more info they have the info below:
"

*Hulu Plus subscription (US only), CinemaNow account (US only) and Blockbuster online membership (US only) required. Netflix is available in certain countries. Unlimited membership required. More information at www.netflix.com."
After talking with WD tech support. I have been informed that netflix will be available on the WD tv live hub on the next firmware update. However they were unable to tell me when this update will be available., but it will be soon.
That is certainly good news to hear that netflix uk will be made available in the next firmware update. I wonder since netflix is coming to the wdtv live hub that they implement bbc iplayer in too.
regarding netflix being implemented that is certainly good news. Thanks for the update superlop.
