Hi,

Somebody out there using Nero Recode to encode files to be played on the WD?

I did use it now and with pretty good results! :smileyvery-happy:

I have now mp4 files that run perfectly on my WD.

(And all with nice AAC 5.1 audio)

I just wanted to share this with you if you seek out for a good app to do your encodings with.

If I find some time, I will post my settings here, or post a small how-to.

I use Nero recode (9) and get ac3 audio. How do you get 5.1?

When you add a title, you can specify the target audio format.

See the screenshot. 

Recode AAC 5.1 Audio

Make sure to select the ‘Nero Digital AVC’ profile. Otherwise you cannot select AAC as target format for the audio track.
