Does anybody know anything about WD TV Live Media player being able to read movie files recorded as a Nero image " .nrg" files or at least is there an hint about a possibility for future firmware upgrade !?

It’s unlikely that the TV Live (or any of the other WD players) will support .NRG images. However, it’s fairly easy to convert them to .ISO files, which both Nero and the TV Live support. Nero itself should be able to do it, or you can use nrg2iso.
